Job Summary:
The Music Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in vocal and/or instrumental music to students from Classes I to XII, in accordance with the CBSE curriculum and school ethos. The teacher will help cultivate students’ musical talents, promote appreciation of music, and organize performances and competitions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach vocal music, instrumental music, or both depending on specialization and school requirements.
- Conduct regular music classes for primary, middle, and senior school students.
- Prepare students for school assemblies, functions, competitions, and CBSE cultural events.
- Organize choir groups, school band, and music clubs.
- Encourage participation in inter-school competitions, concerts, and talent shows.
- Maintain and manage musical instruments and audio equipment.
- Develop lesson plans and introduce students to music theory, notation, and rhythm exercises.
- Identify and mentor musically gifted students.
- Collaborate with dance/drama/art teachers for integrated school productions.
- Maintain student progress records and participation logs.
Eligibility Criteria (as per CBSE norms):
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Music from a recognized university.
OR - Senior Secondary/Intermediate with 50% marks and Diploma in Music from a recognized institution.
Note: B.Ed. is not mandatory for this post as per CBSE guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree or additional certifications in Indian Classical, Western Music, or Music Education.
- Ability to teach both vocal and instrumental is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with digital music tools (e.g., GarageBand, FL Studio, Noteflight, etc.).
Experience:
- Fresh graduates with excellent music skills and stage confidence may also apply.
