Job Summary:
The PGT English teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective instruction in English Language and Literature to classes XI and XII, as per the CBSE curriculum. The teacher should foster critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills in students while preparing them for board examinations and overall language proficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach English Core to classes XI and XII following the CBSE curriculum and exam patterns.
- Design lesson plans, assignments, activities, and assessment tools that develop reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
- Prepare students for CBSE Class XII Board Examinations, ensuring concept clarity and exam strategy.
- Assess student performance through classwork, homework, tests, projects, and assignments.
- Promote literature appreciation and analytical thinking through poetry, prose, and drama.
- Conduct classroom discussions, debates, and presentations to enhance language fluency.
- Encourage creative writing and participation in school publications, debates, elocutions, and essay competitions.
- Maintain accurate academic records, portfolios, and student progress reports.
- Use modern technology tools such as smart boards, online platforms, and digital content for effective teaching.
- Collaborate with peers on interdisciplinary projects, curriculum planning, and English-related events.
Educational Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in English from a recognized university with minimum 50% marks.
- B.Ed. degree from a recognized institution (mandatory).
Preferred Qualifications:
- CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) qualified (optional but preferred).
- Courses or certifications in spoken English, literature, or communication (preferred).
Experience:
- Freshers with excellent subject command and communication skills may also apply.
